Request for like minded people to help Aalambana help street & slum children

There is a registered organization called AALAMBANA (please visit http://www.aalambana.org/) which is a school for street & slum children, located in Kukatpally, Balajinagar. This is supported and run by my close family friends.

Aalambana currently runs with strength of 67 kids, with classes happening till 7th Std. For a small group of people like us, it is indeed a Herculean task. While funds come from most of the core group, there has been help coming in form of volunteers and other like minded people...But then, we still have a long way to go.

We are at the end of an academic year and the next academic year is going to bring a lot more worthy kids who need enrollment into the school and thereby education, minimum hygiene, clothing and food.

As part of our regular awareness, fundraiser and outreach program, Aalambana is conducting an event on the Saturday 25th April, 2009.

Aalambana aspires to get:
1) Your attention towards AALAMBANA's cause, effort and vision is building a much better society for at least some deprived sections
2) Evoke a sense of responsibility that can bring in contribution and participation.
3) Refer / Invite your friends at Hyderabad to attend the 25th April Event. The Donor passes are available for a minimum contribution of Rupees One hundred only.
Also, please find the below presentation that aims at sensitization and awareness towards Aalambana and some details about our work.
Please pass this on to your friends and other like minded people.Looking forward to your feedback, If you are interested to attend the event, please send me an email @ bharani.surineni@gmail.com, so that I can arrange for the donor passes.
Also, if you want to give some donation or contribute to this organization please let me know so that I can arrange for the same.
Also please pass to people who might be interested.

Work like an ant and be prepared for the hard times...

I cicked this above picture near my home

Other day I was lazing around with my camera around my home enjoying the beautiful sunset. FYI, I can spend hours admiring and of course clicking the Sun Set, Alas! that is lasts only few minutes.

I was composing a plant with sun in the background and I noticed a group of ants working their ass off even at the fag end of the day. We all know how much hard workers Ants are and their well planned colonies which are engineering marvels(especially when you are at that size) explains it all.

When I was composing this picture the thought which came to my mind is "Let the Sun set on the past year's difficulties and let us march ahead into the new year with all our vigor, strength and positive orientation".

Way to go Bud!!!

One of my good Buddies, Chinnu(Pavan Arvapally) was a part of London to Paris cycle ride (over 300 miles), raising funds for Marie Curie Cancer Care along with his colleagues Colin, Emma and Tim from 10-14Th September.

Chinnu....

Below was the groups itinerary:
Day 1: London (Croydon) to Dover - 85 miles, followed by a ferry to Dieppe
Day 2: Dieppe to Lisieux - 88 miles
Day 3: Lisieux to Vernon - 72 miles
Day 4: Vernon to Paris (Eiffel Tower) - 65 miles

Chinnu, this is an amazing feat and a great gesture to show that you care for the world. Me and I am sure, all of our friends are very proud of you and your colleagues who crunched your way through to raise funds for the Marie Curie Cancer Care .

Chinnu's first reaction after reaching Eiffel Tower....

Chanakya's Quotes

Chanakya (Sanskrit: चाणक्य Cāṇakya) (c. 350-283 BC) was an adviser and a prime minister to the first Maurya Emperor Chandragupta (c. 340-293 BC), and architect of his rise to power.

Kautilya and Vishnugupta, the names by which the political treatise Arthaśhāstra identifies its author, are traditionally identified with Chanakya. Some scholars consider Chanakya to be "the pioneer economist of the world" and the "the Indian Machiavelli". Chankya was a professor at Taxila University and is widely believed to be responsible for the first Indian empire.

Though I find some of his words goofy, I think when looked at them in political angle they seem right. But I m not politically oriented and cannot be!! I am what I am straight from my mind.

Anyways, below are some of the Chanakya's Quotes:

"A person should not be too honest. Straight trees are cut first and Honest people are victimised first."

"Even if a snake is not poisonous, it should pretend to be venomous."

"The biggest guru-mantra is: Never share your secrets with anybody. ! It will destroy you."

"There is some self-interest behind every friendship. There is no Friendship without self-interests. This is a bitter truth."

"Before you start some work, always ask yourself three questions - Why am I doing it, What the results might be and Will I be successful. Only when you think deeply and find satisfactory answers to these questions, go ahead."

"As soon as the fear approaches near, attack and destroy it."

"Once you start working on something, don't be afraid of failure and don't abandon it. People who work sincerely are the happiest."

"The fragrance of flowers spreads only in the direction of the wind. But the goodness of a person spreads in all direction."

"A man is great by deeds, not by birth."

"Treat your kid like a darling for the first five years. For the next five years, scold them. By the time they turn sixteen, treat them like a friend. Your grown up children are your best friends."
"Books are as useful to a stupid person as a mirror is useful to a blind person."

"Education is the best friend. An educated person is respected everywhere. Education beats the beauty and the youth."

Wonderful Thoughts!

Sometimes, when I read something I feel that, that's absolutely true and feel good about it. And if I am reading such words accompanied by excellent pictures, it feels a bit sentimental and I think and relate my life to the lines I am reading.

Below is something like that I found on the Internet, which I felt good after reading and wanted to share with everyone........
