'Happy Days' Re-visited...

It's been 10 years that we joined college and 6 years past we left. Uff.. to refer, 10 years seems to be a long period of time and when we think about the incidents/accidents ;-) happened in our lives, the same 10 years look like ages. But when we think about the college days, the memories are so fresh as if they have occurred a 'month' back(I am not exaggerating this) and I am sure all my friends agree with it.

Yesterday few of my friends visited our college "Sri Venkateswara Engineering College" at Suryapet. It was a great trip, we visited the college, met the Principal and all our Professors, went out for lunch with a few, took lot of photographs, spent some time in and around college getting nostalgic. We missed our buddy "H.A.W.K.S" and all our other friends. We talked to our Principal for a arranging an Alumni Get Together and he assured that he will make that an event in the decentennial celebrations along with Mechanical Branch Building opening sometime March/April this year.

(The above picture is the result of combining 20 pictures into one, covering the entire building. The resultant picture was 31 Mega pixel and 15 MB is size. Of course the above is scaled down a lot for the blog.)
Every step and for every nook and corner we had a story to tell. Happiness, Joy, Tears, Anger, Forgiveness, Love, Hatred, Ambitions, Dreams, Passions, Strength, Crushes, Entertainment and Support - we got and had it all here. And one thing which tops all the above things is we got to get "Great Friends".

We had a great day and wished it did not end so fast....

Once upon a rainy day....

Prologue: Bheem and Sneha like each other. They used to study in a different city other than their home towns. A small story which would have happened when both of them where in Hyderabad.

Sneha: I got to get home by evening or else my dad is gonna freak out

Bheem: Oh come on....don't worry.

Sneha: Don't worry? you would know if you were in my situation

Bheem: Ahhh....ok..If you get on the bus at 4 PM at Imlibun Bus Stand, I am sure you will reach your town / home by 6.30 PM. So, do not worry.

####Once at the bus stand there were very few buses at that time with go to sneha's town and those which were there were too crowded for a girl to get in####

Sneha: Oh god what do we do now?

Bheem: Don't worry, we will check for the buses at Dilsuknagar Bus stand...

Sneha: What if there are no buses there also

Bheem: We will see then, you do not worry unnecessarily

Sneha: You are not going to listen to me anyway, so as you feel

#### Same situation at Dilsuknagar Bus stand too###

Sneha: $##$#$% $^%$^%$^&%^ #$^$##$

Bheem: Come on calm down, I will drive down Choutapall, its just 50Kms and I am sure you will get some bus there. Also if we find any bus on the way, we can stop it on the way and get in.

Sneha: Its already 5.30, I guess I am cooked in my dad's hands

Bheem: Hop in and lets not delay

####At last Bheem got sneha into bus at choutapall, told her not to worry and started driving back to his home####

While riding back, it rained cats and dogs and Bheem had nothing but a round neck tee with jeans and pair of Nike. The rain was so heavy that he could not even see whats 2 feet away on the highway. He took shelter under a huge tree which has a small goddess temple under it. Knowing the fact that lightning first strikes huge trees, he stays put with his complete body beating instead of his heart. After couple of hours rain subsided, and Bheem drove back to his friends and was very happy that he survived that day.

Epilogue: At that point both of them were not aware that, that was their last ride together. Presently, I guess bother are married to someone else and living happily where ever they are. The rainy night still haunts Bheem when ever he is in India on that highway and passes that huge tree with the temple.....

Once a friend said........

Shyam: Hey Bheem, I think she is going to propose you
Bheem: What!!! don't kid me!!
Shyam: Yes, she loves you....and she is going to propose you at any moment
Bheem: Don't talk crazy! Me and her......?? "NO........WAY!!!!!!!"
Shyam: I just wanted to warn you 'cause I feel that you both are too different to be together
Bheem: Come on man, I told you right, get this into your brain.........Me and her...........?? "NO...WAY!!!!!!!". Its never going to happen.
Shyam:Ok..if you are so confident, there is nothing further for me to say, but take care!!
Bheem: Ohh! come on man...leave that topic and walk fast or else we will get late for the movie.

This talk happened between two friends some 8 years back when we were in our second year of Engineering.

Guess what happened to the above story......

Bheem fell for her, they lived happily for the rest 2 years of Engineering. Later, they broke up as the girl could not convince her father to accept their relationship and lived in despair for 1 year.

After that, they both lived happily ever after separately in their own ways..........

Moral of the Story: Listen to your friends when they have something to say. Sometimes they see the situations in the direction that you cannot even imagine.

Talking about friends, I would like to take a moment to thank all my friends who were with me, stood by me in every shit I was in!! Thank you guys!!!!!

Gosh!! Its been 9 years

Yes, I feel exactly like that when I think about it. I am taking about start of my 'Happy Days' i.e., my first day in Engineering collage. I still remember the first day, 23'rd November 1998. In another 2 days, it will be 9 years, sooo long but it seems so short, the memories are still very fresh.

As I said earlier, there is lot and lot more to come from these days on this blog and for convenience I have labeled these special posts with "'Happy Days' Forever".

For now, I just have to say that I will be off for rest of the week and have no access to Internet. I will be back with more posts from next week onwards.

Finally, to all my friends out there(From School, Collage, Graduation, work), I miss you all and thanks for being with me all the time!!!

Chao!!!

FB

Yesterday evening, I was in a meeting and when my eyes glanced outside from the drapes into the work area, suddenly from no where this memoir hit me.

This one is not from 'Happy Days' Forever (Graduation Days) but its much earlier than that. I guess it was from 8'Th standard in St.Anthony's High School, Himayat Nagar, Hyderabad. We all were in 8'Th Standard and when I meant we, its Ravi, Sumanth, Ramana, Sundeep, Sunil, PY Kiran, Rameshwar, Deepesh, me and there were few more but these are the guys who are still in touch regularly no matter where we are geographically.

There was a girl in 10'Th class who was supposedly beautiful and don't know who named her but we used to call her "Fair Beauty" in short 'FB'. If I think about it now, I cant stop laughing on our stupidity.

When ever she used to pass through the corridor our heads also used to turn along with her till she was completely out of sight. And if by chance if any one didn't notice, some over enthusiastic guy used to alert every one saying FB...FB...FB.

One day when one of the very strict teachers(I do not recollect the name, I think it was Kamakshi Mam) was teaching the class and every one was busy taking the notes, FB was passing by and everyone were very much involved in the class. But this guy named Jagdish saw FB and in that excitement shouted in the class FB....FB ...FB....... Damn! Until he realised what he has done, the damage was done.

Teacher was asking every one what FB meant and every one in the class were as cold as ice and minds blocked with no answer to tell. So the teacher asked Jagdish to stand up and tell her what FB meant and we all were literally frozen expecting the worst to happen after he answers. He was dumb - frozen, teacher was demanding on the answer and she put her foot down and told that she will not continue the class till she gets the answer.

We all were on the verge of getting a heart attack and I cant imagine what Jaggu was going through. At that point Jaggus lips uttered something which blew our brains out. Teacher said WHAT? Jaggu repeated- Mam, 'FB' means 'Friends and Brothers' (What Crap)

Phew!!!

Teacher was convinced with some crap explanation Jaggu gave on this or at least he pretended to be. But we all were very much relieved that we passed that moment safely.

Now 14 years later, this incident still remains fresh in my mind and I still remember in what classroom we were in when this incident happened. Now it feels very strange when I think about it, not only strange funny and stupid too.........

P.S: My friends who were there at that time with me, if you want to add something to this, please do post it as a comment on this post, I will publish it. :-). I am sure I missed some names here, please add them if you guys can recollect.

'Happy Days' Forever!

Last weekend I got to see 'Happy Days', and as long as I was watching the movie only my body was there in the theatre, my mind and soul went back to the years 1998 to 2002. WoW! the memories were so fresh, as if they happened yesterday and they came up from my sub conscious mind so quick, as if they were hard coded in its cache.

Its not about the movie 'Happy Days' that I want to mention here, but its about my actual graduation days that I am pondering about. My 'Happy Days' Forever have nothing in similar to the 'happy days' shown on the screen except for the Araku trip Our Gang (HAWKS + SKAPSS) went and is one of the unforgettable trips in my life. Our gang had 15 boys and 6 Girls, Boys were called HAWKS and Girls, SKAPSS(Don't get creative, they just made up this word from first letters in their Names). Once we started the trend of naming ourselves many others followed and it resulted in Tuneega, Bulls, Butterflies and few more shaping up.

I cannot put all 4 years into one post, so I have created a special 'Label' called "'Happy Days' Forever" which will have beautiful memoirs from my graduation days. It has everything and everything: friendships, fights, infatuations, misunderstandings, crushes, ragging, Love, Break ups, hatred, jealousy, parties, last but not the least Studies and more and more. Its not that, after seeing the movie I came up with writing about my college days. It was on my mind from couple of months and now it got materialized.

I have to clarify that, when I meant 'Happy Days Forever', its not that we were all the time happy, we cried, we stood through the pain and had difficult times. But these are the thoughts which will bring up a 'genuine' smile or a tear from everyone of us from our deepest core. In that way they are 'Happy Days' Forever.

With no second thought, I can say that those are not just 'Happy days', they are 'Happy days Forever'.

Meet our Gang -The Hawks*:

One thing I had to confess is, right after the move was finished, I wanted to call all my friends and talk. In fact I was waiting for the movie to end so that I can call my friends.

**I have tried my best to write the names in order :-), sorry if there are any mistakes. This photo was not at all clear as it belongs to pre digital era :-)
