You too ICICI Bank!

Before you read further, please let me clarify that this has nothing to do with the current rumors spreading on ICICI bank. This is a true incident which I experienced first hand via email last week(Please read the complete thread to understand the situation):

My Email to hima.motati@icicihfc.com:

Hello,

This is Bharani Surineni. I was sanctioned Home loan to buy a flat(105) at Durga Avenues. This is to inform you that I am going for registration on this Thursday i.e., 25 September 2008.

-- Thank you and regards,
Bharani Surineni

Reply I got from hima.motati@icicihfc.com:

??????
If its for hold of cheque you need to provide more details like App no and amount of loan etc. That below details will not fulfill the requirement.
Hima M

My Reply to Hima's reply:

Hello Hima,

I guess you need to talk to your bank guys before asking me that question. I was not given any sanction letter and was told all the vague details over the phone. I was just doing what I was told to do.

First you guys give me a sanction letter with certain amount, later tell me that as some problem and the loan is being downsized and I was informed that the check is valid for 1 week and within that week only I was asked to send an email to you to make sure the check is not cancelled.

And can you please let me know what does "??????" mean? Don't you know that you ought to address a person when writing a professional email and should not use non standard expressions like "??????".

Its very distressful to know initially only how pathetic your service is and how you guys act before I go for a loan and once I am stuck with you guys with you taking the processing fee.
I have been a ICICI bank customer for 5/6 years and I am very much disappointed with it.

Coming to the point, I cannot go for registration as planned tomorrow as there is a bank strike today and tomorrow. And this email is to ask you to hold the check.

And coming to the details, I received some letter from you guys yesterday and I see the following details in it:
Application # 77xxxxxxxx
LAN: NHHYDxxxxxxxxxxx
Amount Sanctioned: 2x,xx,xxx.00

Hope this helps!

Thank you and regards,
Bharani Surineni

As you guys might have guessed it right, I did not get any reply from Hima. Also, along with the above email I also raised a complaint under Grievances section on the ICICI website for which I got a call from one of their representatives with their standard apology statements and the below email:

How to sell yourself!

What's more important in this current competitive world? Its how we 'Sell our self'!

Don't worry, I am not going to give 'Gnyan' on art of selling yourself! I think I am still not ready for that(May be I will be eligible at some point in my life, you guys are spared for now) ;-), So I am going to leave it to experts. Talking about experts in selling, who can it be none other than Joseph Samuel Gerard a.k.a. Joe Girard (born November 1, 1928 in Detroit, Michigan) worlds greatest salesman. He is recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records as the most successful salesman, selling 13,001 cars at a Chevrolet dealership in Detroit between 1963 and 1978.

I clicked the above picture while I was trying some macro shots on my bed few months back
Wow, 13001 New Retail cars sales in 15 years that is BIG and that record is sill unbroken. We have to keep in mind that all sales are retail, no fleet or wholesale, never in management and no used automobiles/trucks. He also has few other records to his name:
Average 6 new retail automobiles sales a day (no used automobiles)
Most new retail sales in one day (18 automobiles)
Most new retail sales in one month (174 automobiles)
Most new retail sales in one year (1425 automobiles)

I bought this book called "How to sell yourself" by Joe Girard few months back just by looking at the cover and reading a brief note at the back. When I bought the book, I did not knew any thing about Girard and I just went for it through gut feeling.

This book is Amazing one, not only to the people who are in Sales/marketing but to any one who want to live life. I had to stop the book in between due to lack of time, but I am sure that you will not be disappointed by it if you get your hands on it.

Dubai Seenu in Hyderabad

Starring: Ravi Teja,Nayanatara
Director: Seenu Vytla
Music: Devi Sri Prasad

Dubai Seenu is the latest movie that hit the theaters last week. If not for Ravi Teja, no other hero could have pulled this plot off. Hero Ravi Teja’s dialogue delivery and casual acting style are the two things which keep the audiences tied throughout the film.

As we can expect from the title, this is a story of a group of friends who dream to go to Dubai and earn big. Their dreams are shattered when a guy ?(venu Madhav) cheats the gang and leaves them clueless in Mumbai. Patnaik (Krishna Bhagavan) comes to their rescue and inspires the guys to set up business. So, why Patnaik gives them money and what he makes these guys do is a track that audience can enjoy.

Mean while Madhu (Nayana Tara) is a RJ in Radio Mirchi, a FM Radio Station. Why Madhu comes to Mumbai? Why Seenu helps Madhu? And what's the relation between the heroine, hero and the bad man is a story that goes through few serious twists.

One thing that is steady and entertaining in the movie is the comedy tracks which come one after another. Some scenes will remind us of Anandam and Venkey, but the director tried his very best to show them differently. Dharmavarapu Subramanyam's role as Radio Station head and MS Narayana as Film Star "Salman Raju" were good.

When it comes to the songs, they were not much appealing. But one or two are worth an ear. One thing that the director tried different in this movie is to include the characters of the story in few of the songs. Small stint by Sunil in the title song is awesome.

Sushant Singh as bad Guy did an exceptional work. After the interval couple of twists will twist you but the comedy track jumping back now and then will relieve us from the stress of the twists. Not to mention we get to see some other actors from the industry in some roles, I mean in between the twists. It's better you see them on screen itself.

Casual dialogues, much more ease of delivery of dialogues by Ravi Teja and comedy tracks right from the start till the end are major plus for the movie.

Overall I can say I feel this is an above average movie and if you want to have some fun and laugh heartily, give it a shot.
