What a way to end the day!!

Actually this post was supposed to be published 3 weeks back.....

Being at work till 12 in the night was a bit tiresome, lack of sleep and the trek the day before added to the strain.

I started home around 12 in the night and was instantly rejuvenated by the sight of empty roads and the feel of cool breeze running over my skin. Wow......what relief , after getting used to the packed up roads, driving on empty roads smoothly without the usage of gear and clutch felt great. I reached home in 22 minutes, which at normal times takes a minimum of 75 minutes.

After having a hot water bath, decided to watch a good movie from the dump of 160 GB of movies I have. This time for a change, I wanted to watch a Hindi movie and somehow I decided to watch Johnny Gaddar.

Right from the first frame, the movie registered in my mind that it is something different. The movie was so gripping that I hesitated to even go the the loo pausing it. What I liked the most about the movie is, We get to know: who is the bad man, what did he do and how did he do but still the suspense is carried throughout the movie.

Hands full of work, Cool ride on the bike, Hot water bath and a great movie, that's what I call a great day!!!

Project Zoological Park

King of the Jungle, For the complete set, check out Picasa and Flickr

I have visited the Zoo many times from my childhood and every time it seemed more and more interesting, in spite that it did not change a bit from past 20 years. Same sloppy maintenance of the place, the animals and not to forget, the visitors who feed and tease the animals in spite of hundred boards asking them, not to feed and tease animals.

This time was a bit special as I was accompanied by my third eye and our great gang(Vivek, Danny, Ashok, Shyam, Sai, Veeru, Vijay). One speciality of our group is, its a mix of people who want to take photographs and guys who what to hang out with others and basically the mantra was to have fun!!

Being a Sunday, there were lots of Families with kids and couple of schools bringing kids to the Zoo trip(Hugh, thank God I remember my school taking me to the Zoo on working days).

We clicked our way through the roads, talking, sharing knowledge about the animals and frowning regularly at the people feeding/teasing animals. I cant believe that most of the times its the grown ups who are feeding/teasing animals and what to say about the kids, they obviously follow.

We went to the so called Lion, Tiger and Bear safari where animals are supposed to be roaming free and we will me taken in an secured mini bus. To my surprise, even in there the lions were caged, did not see even one lion roaming freely. In Tiger safari, we have seen 2 tigers free and rest were caged and in bear safari could see only one bear.

But, overall the trip was awesome. It was like, even a day more at the zoo would not justify to see each and every animal at leisure(I guess Danny would kill me at this thought).

Below are the few snaps that I got from the trip to the Zoo. For the complete set, check out Picasa and Flickr

You there?

I am asking this question to you...GOD....where are you?

I know you are there, 'cause if you are not there every one would have been equal in all ways and there wouldn't be all these differences that we are seeing in class Homosepian.

Strange, you are! You do not give 'everything' to any person. You deprive them of at least one thing.

You give Wealth, deprive us of Health

You give Dreams, deprive us of Wealth

You give Children, deprive us from fulfilling their Dreams

You give happiness, deprive us of Children

You give life, deprive us of Happiness

You give Love, deprive them of Life.

No matter how much positive we are, put in hard/smart work and try to find happiness in what ever we do there is one factor controlled by an infinite energy which is beyond the reach of mankind, which most of us call as GOD.

...and sometimes he/she is harsh.............

Another rocking weekend!!

After many weeks, I had a rocking weekend and there are three reasons. One: After 6 weeks I am in Hyderabad 'only' on a weekend, Two: I joined my friends back on our weekly trekking and photography expedition after a break of 2 months, Three: I have completed PC game 'Microsoft Halo 2'.

After playing Halo 2 till 3.30 AM, I woke up on Sunday 6.00 AM when one of my friend called me to remind me of our expedition. After gearing up, we(Vivek, Sajjad, Afra & Saif) started on a hunt for a good elevated ground with rocks. We drove around Gachibowli and Nanakram guda for around 45 minutes and were surprised to see that most of the mountains which we treked earlier were just a pile of crushed stones now. All this due to the courtesy of Lanco Hills and Outer Ring Road.
We parked our vehicles near the Outer Ring Road, which was under construction after Nanakram guda and started walking in reach of mountains.
A big rock being bored to plug in dynamites

From the Outer Ring road(Under Construction) after a walk of 2 Kms or so we saw a pretty tempting rock formation and we decided to conquer that. The red arrow in the below picture is where we reached 90 minutes later.

Target visible
Birds feasting lazily in the fields on the way to the mountain
I guess I scared them

A closer look from the base
Peacock and Peahen

I have to say that this rock was a mini wild life reserve. Just after 10 or 15 minutes into the trek, we saw around 15 to 20 Peacocks and Peahens flying into deeper zones after they sensed trespassers(us). Apart from these, we saw numerous Rock Lizards, Rabbits, Owls, colourful insects. I wished I had more time to sit patiently so that the birds come back to their ease. One sad part is one day or the other, this Rock will also be blown off in the name of industrialization or modernization...haaa...sometimes....technology sucks!!

After an hour of treacherous and difficult trek which left me with bruises on hands/legs and a cut on the palm we were on top on the rock..yes..top.....it felt like we were on top of the world.

A view from the top

Distant view QutubShahi Tombs from top of the mountain
Distant view Golkonda Fort from top of the mountain
Me Jumpin.........
Sajjad and me Sky diving.............just kiddin......we were jumping off the rock

The blow shot, I got it on our way back through the fields. This is my best and favourite shot of the expedition. I think I will have to keep a day to just shoot these birds. they were awesome, with the little time I had, I clicked what all I could. :-)

Lets Synch..........

I tried to tell u!!!!!

(Some were I found this poem and just wanted to share it with all)

I tried to tell you I love you
but the words were hard to find.

I'm always thinking about you
you're the only one on my mind.

Oh why do I act so shy forever hiding my face
I should learn to laugh and not to cry

put yourself in my place.

There were times I tried to kiss you but something told me no.
You wanted me to hold you but

I kept letting you go.

I'm afraid that I am not the guy
you've searched for all these years.

I will kindly leave now don't you cry
try to hold back your tears.

It's been so long I haven't seen you
for quite awhile

When I think of how we me met it only
brings back your smile.

I remember when I held you then and
told you we'd never part

I loved you then, I love you now and
I'll hold you in my heart.

Class 7C*

'Class 7 C', Seems like a movie title right? But it is not movie this time, its my class when I was studying 7'Th standard in St. Anthony's High School, Himayat Nagar, Hyderabad.

Few days back, when I was searching for something and was emptying all the racks, one of the photographs slipped out and it was of Class 7 C. One glance of this photograph brought in loads of memories. I was always fortunate to have great set of Friends where ever I am and same happened with the school too. And being in one school from Kindergarten to 10'Th standard fetched me a great set of friends.

Below is that photograph and from it, I remember most of the boys and few girls. So, I have named the boys in row and girls, just who all I remember.

Names in bold: we are still in touch ; Names in normal font: I just remember the names

Top row(L to R): Rajani Kanth, Pragati prasad, Bindu Sagar, Bharat Bushan, ??, Jagadish, P Vikranth, Me, Sunil, Sridhar, Deepesh, Sumanth. 2'nd row(L to R): Kalyan, PY Kiran, Ramu, Maruthi, GS Vikranth, ??, Ramana, Ravikanth, Ravi Prasad, Rama Krishna, ??, Yadiaiah, Girls: Chandana, Rajani, Shailaja, Ananta Lakshmi, Shilpa, K Shailaja, Sruthi, Deepika, Usha, Ujwala

Talking about school days, I had lots of interests rather than interests I can say that I was mad of many things. To name a few, collecting pens, playing video games, spending on my Bicycle and to top it all, I was great admirer of Dinosaurs, yes! Dinosaurs.

Everything I had, used to have at least one dinosaur on it. Book covers, Labels, bags, lunch box, pens and when ever I get some time, I used to draw pictures of Dino's. I had a 2 foot skeleton model of T. Rex and loads of Dino stuff that I can gather. I used to read about Dino's, Dream about Dino's and always think about them. At one point I even considered to be a Paleontologist. I must have watched Jurassic park at least 200 times.

When I think about it now, I feel crazy. Now I realize why people around me used to call me crazy at those times. But my love for Paleontology never ceased and some where in the remote corner of my brain, I still want to be a Paleontologist. :-)

BTW, our class teacher, Pankajavalli teacher is the best teacher in whole of my schooling and my love for science developed from her teachings only.

School days are funny days...........

P.S: I am not sure why, Sundeep and Rameshwar are missing in the above photograph.

*As far as I know it's 7'Th class but there are fair chances for it to be 8'Th class too.

Gosh!! Its been 9 years

Yes, I feel exactly like that when I think about it. I am taking about start of my 'Happy Days' i.e., my first day in Engineering collage. I still remember the first day, 23'rd November 1998. In another 2 days, it will be 9 years, sooo long but it seems so short, the memories are still very fresh.

As I said earlier, there is lot and lot more to come from these days on this blog and for convenience I have labeled these special posts with "'Happy Days' Forever".

For now, I just have to say that I will be off for rest of the week and have no access to Internet. I will be back with more posts from next week onwards.

Finally, to all my friends out there(From School, Collage, Graduation, work), I miss you all and thanks for being with me all the time!!!

Self Made man

Bobbie Carlyle's 'Self-made man', a statue I greatly admire and a principle I strongly believe in.

Bobbie Carlyle's 'Self-made man'

If you look at the above picture, you will see a man carving himself from a stone. As I said in real life too, I believe the same. What we are is what we carve for ourselves with our body, mind and soul. At the end of the day, we are 'only' responsible for our actions and we are answerable to ones own self.

And when we are able to answer all the questions truly for ones self, I think that's is the first step to success and success for mankind.

To brief:

"...left to his own devices, man will use his God-given talents to be creative, productive, and prosperous. Using free will, he will better his own situation and that of those around him, thereby influencing in a positive way his own destiny..." *

Chemistry.....Scores....Judges....Please vote

As the weekend is soon approaching, by chance if you turn on the idiot box(TV) to watch any of the National or regional channels* the most popular words that you will hear on them are Chemistry, Scores, Judges, Please vote. Before your imaginations get wild let me tell that these are the terms used by anchors, participants, judges in the reality dance shows.

These dance shows are of various types, I mean the limit is the wildest imagination of the conceptual designer. One common thing in all the dance shows is that they are performed by pairs and as each show should be different than another one show has popular TV stars who are couples in real life, one show has a choreographer and a famous personality(not an actor), one show has a choreographer and a TV star and the combinations go on....

For me, these so called 'Reality Shows' do not seem not at all real. The reason, in fact they are a couple:

To start from, the selection of judges. In all the shows, there will be three judges, where one will be rough, straight forward and bold in his/her comments, one will be very soft and appreciate everyone and the other is some were in between these two, neither too praising or criticizing. All this to cater all types of audiences and to take the audience into emotional trauma with their comments.

There will be differences at least among two teams which are participating, most commonly it comes by one team commenting something personal on the other and they create a big drama in front of the audience(Not to forget that these all the in fact actors by profession).

There will be elimination of the teams depending on the scores they get from the judges and audience votes. By any chance if any team gets eliminated, the audience can vote for them and get their liked team back in the race. What Crap!!!!

There are some other things but at this moment they are not striking in my mind now.

Now, coming to the words:

Chemistry: why Chemistry god why? for every couple, after they finish their dance the judges talk about their Chemistry either good or bad. What the hell has Chemistry to do with it??

Scores: As I talked about the behaviour of the judges above, their scores also reflect the same. I mean, one scores low, once high and one in between. Yeah, I agree that some times all of them give full scores when the performance is good but what skeptical to me is, when the performance is not good why all the judges 'not' give low scores?

Judges: Come on guys, we are the audience, judges are not audience. We are the guys who sit through those silly advertisements which pop up every 8 minutes and waste out time. But the participants behave in such a way that they are dancing for he judges, and to impress them. I agree that in every competition the judges should be impressed but this seems to be too flamboyant to me.

Please Vote: Now, its the turn of the audience. The teams, plead the audience to pleeease pleeease vote for them. And its something that is not free. We have to vote for the team we like through SMS's or calling a special number and choosing the option for the team we like. But the catch is, the costs for these SMS's and calls are much higher than the normal charges.

So, my final judgement on these dance shows: Teams which dance and Judges get paid for what the are doing, the programme producers earn hefty amounts through advertisements between the programme, the TV channels TRP ratings get high and its ranking increases.

But he only people who get screwed here are us the audience, who watch and waste one hour of our precious time over the weekend and I pity the people who in fact vote!!!

'Bug'ged up weeks!

Past two weeks were really busy. So busy, that I did not get time, even to update my blog. WoW, I never imagined that I will be sooo busy that I will not even get 20/30 minutes a day to update my blog!

Being in the 'Software Testing' field, one has to know that 'one' bad build can really screw up an entire week! For us, last couple of builds were very bad and with 'basic functionality' also not working fine, we were on our toes for past two weeks. Finding bugs / crashes /exceptions, creating MR's(Modification requests) and again testing after getting an update from the developer - these were the only things on our 'to do' list.

Usually, even in situations like these, I grab some time to update the blog (during installations / uninstallations) but our IT guys, being the protectors of Band width, blocked the blogger site and indirectly blocked me from updating the blog.

At home, 'my not so friendly' CA personal Firewall was giving me a lot of problems during surfing the web. It made my Internet speed 10 to 15times slower, making it impossible to update my blog. After a lot of thinking and troubleshooting for over a month, I uninstalled CA and moved to Kaspersky which is so far OK.

So... that's what happened to me in past 2 weeks, finding bugs, at work in the day and fighting alien bugs in Halo 2 at home, during the nights. So, my past two weeks were spent with bugs day and night :-).

Now, most of the major bugs have been fixed at work(at least for this build), God know what's going to happen with the next!! But for now, there are lots of alien bugs for me to kick ass in Halo 2. I hope I will continue my blogging spree again from today onwards....

So, good bye for now, gotta kick some alien butt!!!!!

....is calling!! Where are you?

Sometimes, I am in a "situation". Situation which is best described by the below photograph. You may think whats there in the below photograph, but only I know what 'all' is there in it.

Antaru kadandi, vetukuntey laksha bootulu dorukutayi ani. Adi mana aada ladies ki venna to petina vidya and chala easy kooda....* (joku..antey.. please naa meeda chilli and pepper grind cheyakandi)

So, let me put forward the points in the above picture:

  • First and the foremost: Wife is calling, where are you?
  • Low Battery(completely dead)
  • Dropping signal
  • Its Friday
  • Time: creeping towards 10 in the night

I guess, the above points are more than enough to 'not' believe when I say, Hello..hello....hell... hello, your voice is breaking or when I say, my phones battery is dead honey, I will talk to you when I come home. I know that there is no one to blame here. I guess, even if I am on the other side, may be I will also think the same.

The 'Situation' is like that, damn! This so called 'Situation' - a virtual thing which always comes at a wrong time and does not have responsibility attached!

So, ....Be a man and all the best!!!!

Breaking 'all' the rules!!

Strange, this mind is!! Don't know how it relates to things which are no way related with each other. Sometimes it brings up things that we never knew that they have happened.

Yesterday when I was driving back home in Hyderabad traffic :-) which, as usuall was moving at snail pace, I got to see this bike rider beside me. What special with this guy? I can say everything...he was breaking all the possible Traffic rules. Myself being a strict follower of traffic rules, I was looking at him agape.

Check out the list of rules he was breaking:

1. They were riding 'tricky'. That means they were three people seated on the two wheeler which is meant for two.
2. No Helmet
3. The person who was riding was talking on his cell phone.
4. The number plate had Chiranjivi's photo and some designs through which the number was barely visible.
5. And with all this he was trying to rush through the heavy traffic into wrong route.

I couldn't help appreciating this guy's audacity of breaking all the rules, that too in peak timings were cops will be on their toes to issue tickets.

So, why did I write about Brain in the first line of this post?..... When I was staring at this guy appreciating his audacity, from no where this song of Michael learns to Rock(MLTR) - 'Breaking the rules' came up to my mind and I started humming it. The song was no way related to the scene I was seeing, but it came from somewhere deep inside my mind.

I was only surprised, as it was more than 5 years that I heard that song. I was a great fan on MLTR back in college and spent hours listening to their songs. But after college never got much time to follow and all those vanished in thin air.

I think my mind had a strong entry for that song as it came from no where, amidst the pressure of driving in that heavy traffic and after work tiredness. That's why I said initially, Strange, this mind is!!

MLTR - Breaking the Rules is a great song and here it is with lyrics for you to savor:

MLTR - Breaking the Rules

On the street you are listening to every beat of your heart
Want to know if it's working and you're still alive
On your feet you are walking around with your clothes torn apart
In a nightmare where the question is how to survive

In this dangerous land
I'm trying the best that I canto be a respectable man
So won't you listen won't you listen to me
Chorus:I'm breaking the law if you don't give me more than public attention
I'm breaking the rules gonna act like a fool

On the street you are looking so hard for a place for the night
All you want is understanding of your basic rights

In this dangerous land
I'm trying the best that I can to be a respectable man
So won't you listen won't you listen to me
Chorus:I'm breaking the law if you don't give me more than public attention
I'm breaking the rules gonna act like a fool
I'm crossing the line if you don't give me time on your television
I've got something to say don't push me away

FB

Yesterday evening, I was in a meeting and when my eyes glanced outside from the drapes into the work area, suddenly from no where this memoir hit me.

This one is not from 'Happy Days' Forever (Graduation Days) but its much earlier than that. I guess it was from 8'Th standard in St.Anthony's High School, Himayat Nagar, Hyderabad. We all were in 8'Th Standard and when I meant we, its Ravi, Sumanth, Ramana, Sundeep, Sunil, PY Kiran, Rameshwar, Deepesh, me and there were few more but these are the guys who are still in touch regularly no matter where we are geographically.

There was a girl in 10'Th class who was supposedly beautiful and don't know who named her but we used to call her "Fair Beauty" in short 'FB'. If I think about it now, I cant stop laughing on our stupidity.

When ever she used to pass through the corridor our heads also used to turn along with her till she was completely out of sight. And if by chance if any one didn't notice, some over enthusiastic guy used to alert every one saying FB...FB...FB.

One day when one of the very strict teachers(I do not recollect the name, I think it was Kamakshi Mam) was teaching the class and every one was busy taking the notes, FB was passing by and everyone were very much involved in the class. But this guy named Jagdish saw FB and in that excitement shouted in the class FB....FB ...FB....... Damn! Until he realised what he has done, the damage was done.

Teacher was asking every one what FB meant and every one in the class were as cold as ice and minds blocked with no answer to tell. So the teacher asked Jagdish to stand up and tell her what FB meant and we all were literally frozen expecting the worst to happen after he answers. He was dumb - frozen, teacher was demanding on the answer and she put her foot down and told that she will not continue the class till she gets the answer.

We all were on the verge of getting a heart attack and I cant imagine what Jaggu was going through. At that point Jaggus lips uttered something which blew our brains out. Teacher said WHAT? Jaggu repeated- Mam, 'FB' means 'Friends and Brothers' (What Crap)

Phew!!!

Teacher was convinced with some crap explanation Jaggu gave on this or at least he pretended to be. But we all were very much relieved that we passed that moment safely.

Now 14 years later, this incident still remains fresh in my mind and I still remember in what classroom we were in when this incident happened. Now it feels very strange when I think about it, not only strange funny and stupid too.........

P.S: My friends who were there at that time with me, if you want to add something to this, please do post it as a comment on this post, I will publish it. :-). I am sure I missed some names here, please add them if you guys can recollect.

Chanakya's Quotes

Chanakya (Sanskrit: चाणक्य Cāṇakya) (c. 350-283 BC) was an adviser and a prime minister to the first Maurya Emperor Chandragupta (c. 340-293 BC), and architect of his rise to power.

Kautilya and Vishnugupta, the names by which the political treatise Arthaśhāstra identifies its author, are traditionally identified with Chanakya. Some scholars consider Chanakya to be "the pioneer economist of the world" and the "the Indian Machiavelli". Chankya was a professor at Taxila University and is widely believed to be responsible for the first Indian empire.

Though I find some of his words goofy, I think when looked at them in political angle they seem right. But I m not politically oriented and cannot be!! I am what I am straight from my mind.

Anyways, below are some of the Chanakya's Quotes:

"A person should not be too honest. Straight trees are cut first and Honest people are victimised first."

"Even if a snake is not poisonous, it should pretend to be venomous."

"The biggest guru-mantra is: Never share your secrets with anybody. ! It will destroy you."

"There is some self-interest behind every friendship. There is no Friendship without self-interests. This is a bitter truth."

"Before you start some work, always ask yourself three questions - Why am I doing it, What the results might be and Will I be successful. Only when you think deeply and find satisfactory answers to these questions, go ahead."

"As soon as the fear approaches near, attack and destroy it."

"Once you start working on something, don't be afraid of failure and don't abandon it. People who work sincerely are the happiest."

"The fragrance of flowers spreads only in the direction of the wind. But the goodness of a person spreads in all direction."

"A man is great by deeds, not by birth."

"Treat your kid like a darling for the first five years. For the next five years, scold them. By the time they turn sixteen, treat them like a friend. Your grown up children are your best friends."
"Books are as useful to a stupid person as a mirror is useful to a blind person."

"Education is the best friend. An educated person is respected everywhere. Education beats the beauty and the youth."

First Day, First Show!!

Being a not so movie buff form the beginning, me watching a movie on first day is very very rare. Forget first day, watching it on first week or most if the times as it is, even in first month is uncommon and that too in a Theater hmm...! . I do see lot of movies on DVD, 'cause I can skip of all the songs and silly fights. Believe me, sometime last month I have seen 3 Telugu movies in 40 minutes. That's the way I watch Hindi and Telugu movies.

For a person like me who likes to enjoy the movie peacefully, watching a Telugu movie on a First day amidst those loud cheers/whistles and papers flying all around(Some times the papers thrown block most of the screen) is not my peg of Vodka!

But..but...but... My better half being a Ardent die hard fan of Mahesh Babu, I started seeing Mahesh Babu's movies on first day with her. One relieving thing is that my uncle gets the tickets for me when ever need so, I escape the hardships of getting the tickets on first day.

And yesterday was yet another such day as Mahesh babu's Athidi was released. I pushed my uncle to get tickets in Imax as it will be very much quieter than a regular theater. But, I got tickets in Sudarshan 35 MM and I got cooked in the theater amidst the first day freakyness and pandemonium.

In the Movie, Violence was too much, Comedy wise OK, Songs OK, Photography/Songs picturisation/Action sequences were good- over all an OK type movie. I felt it was dragged a bit towards the end

This was my feeling, on contrary my better half's feeling - Super..Super and Again Super!!

For the news on when the new service will be online, keep checking the blog http://docufarm.blogspot.com/

Till then you guys can hook it to other online document viewers....Try Google docs, zoho, pfddownload, thinkfree.

Wonderful Thoughts!

Sometimes, when I read something I feel that, that's absolutely true and feel good about it. And if I am reading such words accompanied by excellent pictures, it feels a bit sentimental and I think and relate my life to the lines I am reading.

Below is something like that I found on the Internet, which I felt good after reading and wanted to share with everyone........

'Happy Days' Forever!

Last weekend I got to see 'Happy Days', and as long as I was watching the movie only my body was there in the theatre, my mind and soul went back to the years 1998 to 2002. WoW! the memories were so fresh, as if they happened yesterday and they came up from my sub conscious mind so quick, as if they were hard coded in its cache.

Its not about the movie 'Happy Days' that I want to mention here, but its about my actual graduation days that I am pondering about. My 'Happy Days' Forever have nothing in similar to the 'happy days' shown on the screen except for the Araku trip Our Gang (HAWKS + SKAPSS) went and is one of the unforgettable trips in my life. Our gang had 15 boys and 6 Girls, Boys were called HAWKS and Girls, SKAPSS(Don't get creative, they just made up this word from first letters in their Names). Once we started the trend of naming ourselves many others followed and it resulted in Tuneega, Bulls, Butterflies and few more shaping up.

I cannot put all 4 years into one post, so I have created a special 'Label' called "'Happy Days' Forever" which will have beautiful memoirs from my graduation days. It has everything and everything: friendships, fights, infatuations, misunderstandings, crushes, ragging, Love, Break ups, hatred, jealousy, parties, last but not the least Studies and more and more. Its not that, after seeing the movie I came up with writing about my college days. It was on my mind from couple of months and now it got materialized.

I have to clarify that, when I meant 'Happy Days Forever', its not that we were all the time happy, we cried, we stood through the pain and had difficult times. But these are the thoughts which will bring up a 'genuine' smile or a tear from everyone of us from our deepest core. In that way they are 'Happy Days' Forever.

With no second thought, I can say that those are not just 'Happy days', they are 'Happy days Forever'.

Meet our Gang -The Hawks*:

One thing I had to confess is, right after the move was finished, I wanted to call all my friends and talk. In fact I was waiting for the movie to end so that I can call my friends.

Today's fortune!

Before I start off with anything on this, let me put forth that, I am kind of a person who does not believe in fortune or luck. I just believe that smart/hard work pays, sometimes it may come late but it will surely pay :-).

Coming to today's fortune, I know that there will be Today's Fortune on the home page of Orkut but I have never payed attention to it and never bothered to read it. But somehow, when I logged in today my eyes went straight to "that" field and guess what I saw there:

Today's fortune: A thrilling time is in your immediate future

Hmm...... that seems to be a good one. hmm... Thrilling? What kind of thrilling? Horror? Suspense? Action? Adrenalin gushing? that's one thrilling thought and it also says in "immediate future" that's more thrilling with weekend ahead of me!

Happy weekend to you all and have a "Thrilling" one!! ;-)

National Coming Out Day

Earlier, I talked about some unknown special days people celebrate in Ask Stupid Question Day and today is also one such day for some people, its National Coming Out Day. Read on....

National Coming Out Day is observed on October 11 by members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) communities and their allies. It is highly encouraged for participants in this movement to wear identifying symbols, such as the pink triangle, the Greek letter lambda, and rainbows, in jewelry and on their clothing, to demonstrate their presence in all walks of life, all ages and all ethnic groups.

National Coming Out Day logo designed by Keith Haring

The day was founded by Dr. Robert Eichberg and Jean O'Leary in 1988, in celebration of the Second National March on Washington for Lesbian and Gay Rights one year earlier, in which 500,000 people marched on Washington, DC, USA, for gay and lesbian equality. National Coming Out Day events are aimed at raising awareness of the LGBT community among the general populace in an effort to give a familiar face to the LGBT rights movement.

In the United States, the Human Rights Campaign manages the event under the National Coming Out Project, offering resources to LGBT individuals, couples, parents and children, as well as straight friends and relatives, to promote awareness of LGBT families living honest and open lives.

Despite its name, National Coming Out Day is observed worldwide.

South indian boy on his first day at school in USA

Actually I wanted to post something else today but after reading this joke, I couldn't wait sharing it with you all. I was Rolling on the Floor Laughing while reading it.

Here is a funny joke about a Indian boy on his first day at school in The USA

It was the first day of school and a new student named Chandrashekhar Subrahmanyam entered the fourth grade.

The teacher said, "Let's begin by reviewing some American History.
Who said "Give me Liberty , or give me Death"?

She saw a sea of blank faces, except for Chandrashekhar, who had his hand up: "Patrick Henry, 1775" he said.

"Very good!" Who said "Government of the People, by the People, for the People, shall not perish from the Earth?"
Again, no response except from Chandrashekhar. "Abraham Lincoln, 1863"said Chandrashekhar.

The teacher snapped at the class, "Class, you should be ashamed. Chandrashekhar, who is new to our country, knows more! about its history than you do."

She heard a loud whisper: "F**k the Indians,"
"Who said that?" she demanded.

Chandrashekhar put his hand up. "General Custer, 1862."

At that point, a student in the back said, "I'm gonna puke."
The teacher glares around and asks "All right! Now, who said that?"

Again, Chandrashekhar says, "George Bush to the Japanese Prime Minister,1991."

Now furious, another student yells, "Oh yeah? S*ck this!"
Chandrashekhar jumps out of his chair waving his hand and shouts to the teacher, "Bill Clinton, to Monica Lewinsky, 1997!"

Now with almost a mob hysteria someone said "You little shit. If you say anything else, I'll kill you."Chandrashekhar frantically yells at the top of his voice, "Gary Condit to Chandra Levy, 2001."

The teacher fainted. And as the class gathered around the teacher on the floor, someone said, "Oh shit, we're f**ked!"
And Chandrashekhar said quietly, "George Bush, Iraq, 2005."
