Michael Jackson - the undisputed 'King of Pop'

There no questions asked when Michael Joseph Jackson (August 29, 1958 – June 25, 2009), is referred to as 'King of Pop'. I have been a huge fan of Michael from my childhood and grew up listening/watching the songs from Thriller, Moon Walker, Dangerous and History.

I used to watch the video tape of Thriller and Moon Walker for hours after coming back from school. I still remember how helpless I was when Michael's dangerous tour hit India. I desperately wanted to go for it, but my age and the price of the ticket stopped me in putting forth my request to the elders. The days I fought with the audio store guy to get me the 'History' audio cassettes which he was delaying after me paying an advance are still afresh.


I still cant believe he is no more. I was at least hoping to catch up at least on or few of his 50 sold-out concerts to over one million people, at London's O2 arena, from July 13, 2009 to March 6, 2010 online( with things getting on to Internet so easily these days, I was very positive about it).

I like most of MJ's songs, My best pick will include: "Beat It" "Thriller" "Bad" "The Way You Make Me Feel" "Dirty Diana" "Smooth Criminal" "Man in the Mirror" "Black or White" "Jam" "Heal the World" "Give In to Me" "Will You Be There" "Scream/Childhood" "You Are Not Alone" "Earth Song" "They Don't Care About Us" "Stranger in Moscow". Songs apart I love his Moon walk, the cover art of Dangerous album and the Opening sequence of 'History' album, its absolutely fabulous.

Despite of his rough personal life, I admire him as an artist. Thriller still being the biggest selling album even after 25 years of its release is a testimony of his popularity and success.

Indeed, MJ is the undisputed 'King of Pop'.. may is soul rest in peace!!!

I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing

I do not believe in this but, "Happy Valentines Day" for everyone. 'Cause I am kind of person who believes that there shouldnt be like a special day to express love, we should be making everyday or most of the days special by expressing love. Ok, that discussion is for sometime later. Coming to this post " I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing by Aerosmith " is my all time favourite love song, which is Sound Track from the movie 'Armageddon'. I instantanosly fell in love with this song when I first herd it back in collage and I used to listen to this one day and night till the tape went bad.

I should also confess that, back in college I sang this song and recorded on to a Tape along with my friend Satish .. ha ha ha ha...... I can't believe that I have done that to Aerosmith. I dont know what Satish has to say now!, but back then he appreciated me that the song came out well.

The weight of the lyrics and the depth of Steven Tailor's voice is simply wonderful and mesmorising. Breaking 'all' the rules!!

Strange, this mind is!! Don't know how it relates to things which are no way related with each other. Sometimes it brings up things that we never knew that they have happened.

Yesterday when I was driving back home in Hyderabad traffic :-) which, as usuall was moving at snail pace, I got to see this bike rider beside me. What special with this guy? I can say everything...he was breaking all the possible Traffic rules. Myself being a strict follower of traffic rules, I was looking at him agape.

Check out the list of rules he was breaking:

1. They were riding 'tricky'. That means they were three people seated on the two wheeler which is meant for two.
2. No Helmet
3. The person who was riding was talking on his cell phone.
4. The number plate had Chiranjivi's photo and some designs through which the number was barely visible.
5. And with all this he was trying to rush through the heavy traffic into wrong route.

I couldn't help appreciating this guy's audacity of breaking all the rules, that too in peak timings were cops will be on their toes to issue tickets.

So, why did I write about Brain in the first line of this post?..... When I was staring at this guy appreciating his audacity, from no where this song of Michael learns to Rock(MLTR) - 'Breaking the rules' came up to my mind and I started humming it. The song was no way related to the scene I was seeing, but it came from somewhere deep inside my mind.

I was only surprised, as it was more than 5 years that I heard that song. I was a great fan on MLTR back in college and spent hours listening to their songs. But after college never got much time to follow and all those vanished in thin air.

I think my mind had a strong entry for that song as it came from no where, amidst the pressure of driving in that heavy traffic and after work tiredness. That's why I said initially, Strange, this mind is!!

I am sure we all have been in such situations before. What ever you do, things will not fall in place or how much ever hard work you put in, it has no results. I relate Such situations to the song In The End by Linkin Park.

Whenever I hear this song, I feel like my entire life is being replayed in my mind. This song talks about Friendship and love. All my friends, those fun times we had, small fights, some of them moving to different countries to persue their dreams, everything just feels like it happend yesterday!

I feel that only Friendship is the only purest form of love after Parental love. What's life without friends. As the song starts with...
